B9Captivate Desktop Release Notes
1.7.1
6/27/2024Bug Fixes
- Fixed: License key registration could fail if the license key input contained any whitespace characters.
- Fixed: Display Name allowed the “/” character, which is not accepted by the printer and causes material installation to fail. Now Display Name prevents the “/” character from being entered.
1.6.1
1/27/2023New Features
- Layer Mask has been added to the Partner service level. Layer Mask is disabled by default, but it can be set to Foundation Hatch to increase build table adhesion through four new properties:
- Channel Width - Partner Only
- Channel Spacing - Partner Only
- Pattern - Partner Only
- Pattern Rotation - Partner Only
Bug Fixes
- Fixed: The B9Captivate installer would fail if a newer version of B9Captivate was already installed. For example, B9Captivate 1.3.0 will not install if B9Captivate 1.4.0 is already installed. Only the installers for B9Captivate 1.3.0 through 1.6.0 are affected by this bug.

8/22/2022New Features
- You can use B9Captivate for up to a week without being connected to the Internet.
- In Settings > Licensing, the Use Offline Until date shows how long you can use B9Captivate without an Internet connection.
- When B9Captivate is open and you have an Internet connection, B9Captivate periodically checks that your license is valid and updates the Use Offline Until date to be a week from now.
- If you are not connected to the Internet and the current date is after the Use Offline Until date, B9Captivate will be unusable until you connect to the Internet and refresh your license.
- Settings > Licensing shows how many computers are using your license key.
- Seats shows the number of computers registered on your license key and how many more computers can register.
- Expires shows the date your license expires.
- Unregister this computer allows you to remove your computer from your license key. This frees up a seat on your license so another computer can register with your license key.
- When your license expiration date is less than a week away, you will see a notification popup when B9Captivate starts.
- Two new ways to license B9Captivate have been added: Limited Network and Private Network. Contact support@b9c.com to enable either of these alternative licensing methods.
- With Limited Network licensing, your computer never needs an Internet connection. Instead, annually transfer a license file to the offline computer running B9Captivate.
- With Private Network licensing, a local licensing server runs on your private network. B9Captivate connects to the local server and never needs an Internet connection.
