Printer Manager improvements
-
The Add to favorites star icon allows you to mark printers as favorited.
-
Favorited printers appear at the top of the printer list.
-
On launch, B9Create attempts to connect to each favorited printer, even if the printer was not picked up by the “Auto-detect printers on network” function.
-
-
The Search bar allows you to filter the printer list and only show printers matching the entered name or IP address. Clear the search text to show all printers again.
-
The Printer settings icon opens a menu for configuring Printer Manager options.
-
“Clear favorite printers” unfavorites all currently favorited printers.
-
“Auto-detect printers on network” is enabled by default. It detects B9Creations printers on the same network as your computer and connects to them automatically.
-
“Use system proxy settings” is enabled by default. It is recommended to leave this enabled unless your IT has configured proxy settings that prevent you from accessing B9Creations printers.
-
-
If a printer is no longer connected but is either favorited or has been previously connected during your B9Create session, that printer will remain in the printer list with a Reconnect button, allowing you to easily attempt a reconnection.
-
The printer list is sorted alphabetically by printer name.
-
You can manually connect to a printer using its hostname, which identifies your printer on your network similar to an IP address. Hostname is derived from the printer's assigned Name and will be visible in a future firmware update for your printer.
-
-
Auto Support and Auto Scaffold have a Cancel button to stop the operation without waiting for it to complete.
Bug Fixes
-
Fixed: Box select only selected a support if the support's base was fully enclosed within the box selection.
-
Fixed: When closing the auto support preset edit panel, a warning about losing unsaved changes was shown even when there were no unsaved changes.
-
Fixed: In the auto support preset edit panel, toggling the Maxima or Grid checkbox off and then on did not properly assign a value to the Support Preset dropdown. Auto supporting using the preset could place malformed supports.
-
Fixed: When a printer connected, occasionally the printer name was not populated.
-
Fixed: Scaffolding selected supports could show an incorrect progress message.
-
Fixed: B9Create could hang for up to 5 seconds after opening while printers were auto-detected.
- Fixed: For the B9 Model material, auto supporting a part using the Model indication generated supports. Now auto supporting a Model indication generates no supports, similar to how the Model Die indication behaves.

- B9 Dent CAM automatically detects if an STL is a scan and performs several operations:
- Support caps are optional objects that you can insert between the tip of your support and the part surface.
- During support removal, the cap creates a positive artifact that can be filed down instead of a negative artifact that must be filled in. The support tip breaks away from the cap, and the cap remains attached to the part surface.
- Add a support cap by selecting a support and changing the Cap Type.
- Use the radius and penetration depth controls to fine tune your caps for optimal removal.
