Want to buy a new B9 V1.2

Hi, I'm using B9 v1.0. For jewelry, I need to print with XY50 micron. But I feel this size on build table is still small for me. So, is it true for B9v1.2 with XY50 micron has bigger size on build table than the B9v1.0?
Thank for help.

The build area for the 50 xy set up is 96 mm in the X direction and 54 mm in the Y direction.

The build area for the v1.1 and the version v1.2 are the same.

The build area for the Core 550 (50 xy setup) is still the same.

The only way to get the largest build area is to set up the B9 creator at 70 xy. The build area for the 70 xy setup is 104 mm x 75.6 mm.

Go to the Spec sheet for the v1.2 to see all three build areas for 30 xy, 50 xy, and 70 xy set up.

http://www.b9c.com/media/files/Brochures/spec-sheet.pdf

As u lower the projector to increase the build area u decrease resolution and increase build times. You will still maintain the max build height with all three resolution settings when changing xy resolution setups.

Don't know what type of models u are printing but if u would share, myself or others might be able to help with layout and possible slicing of the model and printing in separate segments to assemble after printing or casting. Assuming u are printing very large models. If u want volume of models u will be better off with multiple print sessions than going to the much slower 70 xy setup.

The print sessions times are approx. 1/2 of the time on the v1.2 due to the HD projector output (lumens). Higher light energy and shorter exposure times. Print times on the Core 530 are approx. 1/3 of the print times of the v1.2. In other words what I use to print on the v1.1 at 6 hrs is approx. 45 to 60 minutes on the Core 530 (rings printed vertically). The Core 530 is set at 30xy and cannot be changed.

Hope this helps.

Hi Robert, how're you doing?
I still confuse why v1.0 has 100mic, 75mic, 50mic. But v1.2 has 75mic, 50mic, 30mic.

Is it true if I print a ring with resolution 50micron on V1.0 will get the same resolution 50micron on V1.2?

Is it true the size of 50micron (51.2x38.4) on V1.0 is smaller than 50micron (96x54) on V1.2?

If all of these true, so I could print even more rings on V1.2 with 50micron (96x54) than V1.0 which has only (51.2x38.4).

I wanna make sure before I buy V1.2. Thank

Sam

The reason for differences in the set ups for the 1.2 is the High Definition projector on the v1.2.

At all the xy resolution settings using a 1.2 you will get higher quality prints with smaller details using the HD projector due to pixel density.

I do not have the sizes of the build area for the v1.1 anymore. I sold my 1.1 and don't have any of that anymore. Maybe someone else can answer that question about build ares size on the 1.1 compared to the build area on the v1.2.

Yes if the build area is larger on the 1.2 at 50 microns then u can build faster and possibly more pieces assuming the build area is smaller on the 1.1 at 50 microns. Again, I don't have the older info on the 1.1 build areas.

Here are the different sizes I notes and confuse. It looks like 50micron in V1.2 has larger area space size for printing more rings than V1.1.

Yes the build area is larger. And u can fit a greater volume of models for printing. I don't understand your confusion.

The build area for the v1.1 and the version v1.2 are the same.

Probably because you said that.

You are right. My mistake, I was thinking about the v1.2 and the Core machine having the same build area. Sorry!

I Just get it today, welcome new member.

In the box there is already printed 1 sample calibration, but after I print out from this new machine, it came out different dimensions (bigger size, and detail looks blur not good). Does anyone know why? Thank

That projector on the floor looks like it is in the 50 micron position. U need to select the print for 50xy and test. Looks like the test print was done at the 30xy set up. Kinda hard to tell.

Check the orange calibration plates and check them against the test prints u are trying.

The projector originally in 30 micron position from the company and I still don't know why. But whatever now problem is solved by moving projector to 50 micron, and print came out good with XY 50, Z 20. Thank.

20z is probably overkill. For most printing, the only difference you'll notice between 20z and 30z is the longer growing time for 20z. At least that was my experience using the 30xy build area and I'm assuming that's also the case with 50xy. I'm sure someone will chime in if I'm mistaken.

I agree with RobertW, printing at 30z since forever on the 1.1, 1.2. Difference is just not worth the time or wear and tear on the lamp or machine and PDMS.
