Re: Casting Problems

Something is not being done properly. Been casting Emerald prints for about 1 yr. with no issues. What curing is being done and how? Robert Howle please see my other post Robert.. I think my cure times are not enough. I cure about 5 minutes x 2 sides in the B9 LED curing box. May have to increase i...

Re: Having issues with Emerald resin.. Better luck with B9 Cherry

Perpetual, what curing is being done by u and what method. Also what cleaning method are u using to remove uncured resin after printing? Robert Howle Aside from using B9 LED lightbox (short cure times) instead of a cheap nail curing box (hours to cure), I have not really changed my cleaning/curing ...

Re: Casting Problems

My caster is having issues with my Emerald resin prints also. I used Cherry resin on my B9 v1.2 and rarely ran into any casting issues. Caster hasn't changed anything in his casting process and is suggesting I switch back to Cherry resin on my B9 Core 530.

Having issues with Emerald resin.. Better luck with B9 Cherry

Hi, Anyone running into casting issues with the B9 Emerald resin? I send out my prints to a local caster and lately the prints from my B9 Core using Emerald resin have been problematic with surfaces coming out rough. My caster is asking me to return to using B9 Cherry resin. We almost never ran into...

Re: B9 v1.2 for sale

B9 v1.2 is an excellent printer in terms of print quality and reliability having owned and used both the v1.2 and Core 530. I highly recommend it for those on a budget, can't afford a Core or are hobbyists who don't do many prints and to whom speed isn't so much of a concern. I do not work for or ha...

I think its possible if they offered duravats for the v1.2 .. No need for sweeping mechanisms then. ^^

Re: B91.2 printing on its peak.

amazing details.. I would love to see a screen grab of your layout file. It seems like you need a heck lot of supports to print this. The B9 v1.2 is once heck of a nice machine to run. If only the PDMS tray didn't require any maintenance ^^

Re: UV/Laser handheld light recommendation?

The Uv pens work really well... you can fill areas much better then super glue, then after curing for 10 seconds, it's strong enough that you can file the UV glue down to a perfect finish. Works with the B9 material too. If it's a large repair, you can tack it with the pen, add material to the cavi...

I use super glue

yes, I use that for initial joints but sometimes I need to fill holes and need more material. There are many of these uv lights available on Amazon. Don't want to buy one that doesn't work.

The UV glue works great for non castable repairs and the UV light cures B9 material very quickly

Do you have a link online where I could buy it? I live north of the border and we don't have Walgreens around. :D

UV/Laser handheld light recommendation?

Hi,
I was wondering if any of you have used and could recommend a portable UV or laser light/keychain I can use to cure B9 resin and join printed parts/fill holes etc?
I have the B9 curing light box but its not suited when I need to hold parts together with my hands and cure.

thanks.

Re: Supports

lol.. try orienting the part at an angle to eliminate full horizontal surface which seems to be floating and would likely still fail with lots of supports

aren't there any on kickstarter right now? I swear I saw some scanners available few years ago. Best way to find something for cheap although it might be a gamble.

Re: B9 Model Cure , longer times ?? how ?

If it were possible I think it would be a very bad idea. The LEDs generate a considerable amount of heat. If u mess with the electronics and something goes wrong like the fan malfunction you could be creating a fire hazard. If u have a need to cure something for an hr then it is probably not a B9 m...

Re: B9 CORE SERIES CLONE AT SPECIAL PRICE

Mr. Mike, I told a dental friend about the B9 Core (the Creator was too techie for him) and that it is self calibrating, etc. He checked into it and said that he would have to buy the dental model (Cara) of the Core and that it would cost about $17,000. What would he be getting that I won't get whe...

I've moved to using 91% IPA instead of 70% and I have not see that behavior when rinsing in straight IPA (no water).

yeah.. could be all the impurities in water that react with alcohol and resin

Re: Frosting from rubbing alcohol?

yeah.. Pure alcohol will do that if you don't rinse it off quickly. I went to using diluted alcohol to wash parts. Fill a container with warm water, pour few drops of alcohol in it, rinse parts in it, then rinse the part under the tap again. Haven't tried casting parts with frosting so I don't know ...

Core 530 ring print photos

Just sharing some hi res photos of simple rings printed with the 530 Core. I know there aren't many around. These photos were taken using a macro lens. Click to zoom in and see the print layer details. You can see some of the fine pixel/print layer details. Its almost microscopic, like grains of san...

Re: Move on over

looking at the set-up you've created, I was wondering if there was maybe an easier way to move the projector out to the further position. Could something like this be used? Seems like it would make it very simple to extend the projector out to the further position, than having to swap out bolts (no...

Re: So few posts on Core series...

Right now, I'm more interested in the new resin they teased on Facebook. They had it at the jck show. Not much info available, but apparently this resin is only for the Core series? From what I read, its not meant for casting but prints very fast so its suitable for prototypes, test and sample mode...
