explainations of settings?

I thought I had a bookmark on what the definitions of printer settings where. Does anyone have that link or info? I want to make my first couple layers thicker and can't remember what that number need to be.
Cheers.

First couple of layers are "attachment layers". You might want to keep the total attachment layer thickness to .5mm. The subsequent curing that occurs during the layers after the first two can cause the attachment to fail it the attachment begins to curl. Why are u wanting to increase the first two layers, maybe there is another solution. Maybe just increase the MSM slightly if u are having attacment problems.

If u change any of the settings on the left side of the print screen you will overide the software that adjusts for things like lamp age, etc.. Also the MSM will no longer function. YOu will have to make all those adjustments yourself. This is not a problem if u have already created a profile for a 3rd party resin.

That was it, increase the MSM layers...should just do that in .25 increments?

EDIT: I just made the MSM 1.1 and still did not stick. The first couple layers have always been a bit thin, but the past few times not really sticking to build plate. I had to abort this last print this morning.

MSM is not about layers. MSM is machine specific multiplier. Increasing the MSM will increase all the exposure settings by the same percenatage. If u go up .10 on the MSM it will add 10% to all exposure times, including the attachment layers and all subsequent layers.

Should be able to make adjustments based on a calibration print designed for specific xy and z and resin chosen.

Mininum exposures that give good attachment and complete and sharpe details are recommended. Over exposure of layers can cause bleed and loss of detail in smaller design elements. In other words, if u increase the MSM and start to get "bleed" in the print, then back up maybe 1/2 of the increased MSM and go from there.

What machine and what resin?

Hope this helps.

well the other layers are fine...so once again something odd with the build plate and the first couple layers are really thin, or like this morning will not stick

Sounds like u need to recalibrate the build table. Do you have the new stainless steel build table assembly. If u dont', get it. It's a "can't do it wrong" piece of tech.

I think you are referring to the Attach Base time in advanced settings (in Print setup). You can try bumping it up 1 or 2 seconds and see if that does the trick. It will only increase the exposure time of the first 2 (attach) layers. But if the table is not calibrated correctly it won't help.
Good luck!

going to try the Attach Base. I calibrated the build table yet again WITH the new stainless steel build I had a fail last night. =(

Ok, so after calibrating build table just now, new emerald green, and raising the attached layer to 1.70 it looked good. Then after the 3rd pass I noticed the build layers came off the brand new VAT. I have no ideas now. LOL

U should not have to change attachment layers, just the MSM. Do calibration print with the new build table.

You really need to do a calibration print and post pictures if you need help with it.
You are using all new stuff, so a calibration is needed.

Thanks for the help folks. My problem is that it's so random. This look pretty good to me...maybe a larger base plate?

No offense but have you cleaned the lens on the printer lately? Just a thought
You might make sure the under side of the vat's window is clean too.
